I received an arc copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. So why the sparkles? Maybe I am being dense but I do read a lot of children's books (kiddo is 6) and this one just didn't make a lot of sense. Makes WAY more sense now, the food smell brings the reindeer. On the plus side, the pictures were really cute and I really liked how it had a recipe in the back for kids to make their own Also, the reindeer's hooves appeared to sparkle afterward eating the reindeer dust, going back to me thinking it was supposed to help Santa see through the fog. Was it supposed to feed the reindeer as well? It wasn't very clear what the purpose was exactly. The Reindeer Dust was thought up by William so that Santa could see through the fog, or at least that is what they lead you to assume. I think the concept is rather cute but the story isn't very well developed. It also happens to be a rather foggy evening and one little boy is concerned that Santa won't be able to find his way, so they mix up some Reindeer Dust and sprinkle it outside and when Santa comes, the reindeer are happy and so are this kids the next morning. Santa is frazzled and behind on Christmas Eve and forgets to feed his reindeer before their ride (bad Santa).

I originally requested this from Netgalley so we could read it over the holiday break and we never got around to it.
